The reasoning behind the upgrades is predominantly to provide customers more productivity, greater fuel economy and faster cycle times. This is largely achieved through the inclusion of the modern engines, which contribute to lower fuel burn, and automatic transmissions, acknowledged for their reliability, efficiency and smooth shift.
Hyundai employs Cummins engines driving through electronically controlled Ergopower automatic transmissions in the Dash 7 wheel loaders. Proportional valves enable very precise control of the clutches, and a gear-change monitoring function adjusts shift pressure in the clutches for smooth shifts with no interruption of traction.
The larger capacity engines offer more power and greater torque, produced at a lower speed, resulting in improved fuel economy. Apart from the proven fuel efficiency and reliability of the Cummins engine, these power plants have the advantage of favourable repair costs in comparison to other electronic engines.
Hyundai has concentrated on improving the serviceability of the upgraded units by providing easier access to the major components and access to the engine and transmission oil fill and dipsticks for daily checks.
The Hyundai loaders incorporate Dana axles in the HL730-7 and HL740-7, and ZF axles from the HL757-7 up to the HL780-7A due to their proven reliability, fuel efficiency, high performance and low noise emissions, and this area is a major improvement for the range.
The source says “Various cab improvements have also been made, including the use of composite panels, to improve aesthetics and reduce sound levels. The new units also feature an upgraded multi function cluster control unit for improved operator interface."
Hyundai’s philosophy of building production class machines rather than utility duty loaders is reinforced with the latest machines which are proving to be very popular in the market.
