The celebrations came as JCB announced it had just completed a multi-million pound investment in its Rochester manufacturing facility in the UK, designed to double Loadall production capacity.
The success of the Loadall product has been built on continual investment, tireless innovation and product development. The latest investment in UK production facilities enables JCB to meet the increasing demand for Loadalls in the New Zealand construction industry and around the globe.
JCB offer a wide range of telescopic handlers in their Loadall product line, with capacities from 2000kg to 4000kg and lift heights from four to 17 metres.
The compact range offers three models; including the smallest four-wheel-drive, four-wheel steer telescopic machine on the market, the 520-40 (2t, 4m). With a height of less than 2m and width of 1.6m, it takes true off-road telehandler performance to previously inaccessible buildings and yards. The larger models in the compact range, the 524-50 (2.4t, 5m) and 527-55 (2.7t, 5.5m) are highly manoeuvrable, high performance units designed for all lifting and loading work.
The Loadall range from seven to 17 metres now features a complete JCB manufactured drive train with the Dieselmax Engine, Powershift transmission and axles all designed and built in house in the UK by JCB. These have been specifically designed for use in off-highway equipment, giving the JCB Loadall greater performance and overall reliability in tough applications.
In addition, JCB also manufacture the chassis and boom, the cab and the hydraulic rams all to JCB’s own high standards of specification and quality. These components make the Loadall an exceptionally robust and reliable machine.
The 531-70 (3.1t, 7m) and 541-70 models (4.1t, 7m) are designed for all-round placing and loading applications. The boom is heavily reinforced for durability, and the carriage linkage design for maximum break-out force and rotation when operating with a bucket for faster, more productive cycles.
The Loadall cooling package is a highly developed unit that customers find ideally suited to New Zealand conditions. It features large stainless cooler units, with large surface areas and wide core for continuous operation in tough applications. Models are available with a reverse fan system, which allows the operator to switch the fan direction temporarily from the cab, clearing the intake screen for optimum cooling performance.
A wide range of high-lift models is also available, consisting of three-stage boom machines at 9.5m (535-95), 10.5m (533-105), 12.5m (535-125) and 14m (535-140), and the flagship four-stage boom model, the 17m 540-170. These units offer the same robust construction and dedicated high-torque drivelines as the smaller two-stage boom models offer high productivity in all applications.
